5/29/09- Ann is beginning a graduate program in August, so Sleepy Records will be taking a bit of a break. We will continue to sell all our current releases, but will not be taking on any new projects for a while.
11/18/08- Cake on Cake's Hymns I Remember is available now!
10/14/08- Cake on Cake's newest album, Hymns I Remember, is available for pre-order now! The CD is the first release in our "Go Green" initiative, featuring digipaks with trays made from 100% recycled soda and water bottles. The rest of the packaging is printed with vegetable inks and is Green Forestry Practices certified with a minimum of 10% post-consumer recycled content. We're really excited about this and hope that you are too!
8/04/08- The Sun Come Undone limited edition LP is here and it's beautiful! Get a copy here before we run out!
7/08/08- On July 15th, Sleepy Records will be releasing a special vinyl edition of "Sun Come Undone," the debut album by Baltimore shoegaze band Thrushes. The release is limited to 500 copies and each record includes a signed and numbered print by screen printer Miss Amy Jo. Pre-orders are available now!
We're shooting for an August or September release of the third Cake on Cake album, "Hymns I Remember." I'll post more details as they are available.
After that...a break? I haven't quite figured it out yet.

1/22/08- Happy New Year from Sleepy Records! We have lots of exciting things planned for this year.
First, you may have noticed that there are fewer items for sale in the shop. We decided to close the distro part of Sleepy Records in order to concentrate on our own releases. Hopefully, shifting our focus a bit will allow us to put out more releases each year and maybe even do some different projects, like Sleepy Records t-shirts and self-published books. We really enjoyed working with all the wonderful labels and bands in the Sleepy shop and thank them for all of their help during our first year in business.
Sleepy Records is also thrilled to announce that we will be releasing the third album of the Swedish band Cake on Cake, out sometime in 2008. The second album from Little Name should also be out on Sleepy Records in 2008.
Finally, if all goes well, our first compilation, Lullabies and Good Morning Songs, will finally be out this year. We're also planning to release a shoegaze compilation at some point in the future. Please check back for updates!
